Bags can also be purchased directly from merchants or through the Trading Post. 4 – 10 slot bags are relatively affordable while 12 – 20 slot bags increase exponentially in cost. There are a few ways of obtaining 20 slot bags for cheap, for example, completing the Uncanny Canner and Bandit Weapons Specialist collection achievements. Specialty 20 slot bags can also be purchased by completing Fractals and using Fractal Relics on 20 slot bags. A bag is an item that increases the capacity of a character's inventory. They come in a variety of sizes, up to 20 inventory slots (up to 32 with Path of Fire), and sometimes have special features. All characters start with a 20 slot Starter Backpack equipped in the first bag slot. Characters on a free account have two additional bag slots, characters on a paid account (core game or with either expansion) have 4 additional bag slots. After unlocking all your characters share the items that you put in those slots, so it's convenient to put there things like Royal Terrace Pass or Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic. Game Guild Wars 2. Other[edit]
- One slot comes bundled with Heart of Thorns and another with Path of Fire. These slots are initially filled with a Level-80 Boost. Consuming the boost will free up the slots.
- If you receive Heart of Thorns free with Path of Fire, you do not get the shared inventory slot or the level 80 boost from Heart of Thorns, meaning you only get one boost and one slot, despite owning both expansions.
Notes[edit]
- The shared slots can be moved either above all regular bag slots, or below them. This is done by dragging the slot, much like you would with a bag.
- The slot is not a bag slot, and does not allow additional bags to be equipped.
- Vendors and the Trading Post will ignore items in these slots, as will 'Deposit all Materials'.
- Items that soulbind or are already soulbound cannot be placed here.
- The slots can hold all other items, making it especially useful for salvage kits, gathering tools, gizmos, non-wallet keys, or consumables you want an easy access to on multiple characters across your account, such as the Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic, Infinite Mist Omnipotion , Mistlock Sanctuary Passkey, Armistice Bastion Pass, Royal Terrace Pass, Bank Access Expresses, or Mystic Forge Conduits.
- If a shared slot fills up with an item (ex. Unidentified Gear) and you have an empty shared slot, any additional items of the same type that enter your inventory will fill that additional shared slot before overflowing into your regular bags.
- Currently, an account can have a maximum of 24 shared slots:
- 22 shared slots can be purchased from the Gem Store.
- 1 slot is acquired by owning Heart of Thorns.
- 1 slot is acquired by owning Path of Fire.
- The packs of 3/5 shared slots are delivered as 3 or 5 single-slot unlocks that can be consumed individually.
